Kirk Huizenga
Interim Director of Adult Ministries and Outreach
Responsibilities Kirk oversees all ministries to Adults and Outreach.
Church Background Kirk was born and raised in western Michigan. He grew up in a family of believers and attended a Reformed Church of America (RCA) church until a young adult. After high school, Kirk moved to California to work at Summit Adventure, a Christian wilderness program. During his time in California in ministry, schooling, and meeting and marrying his wife, Laura, Kirk attended an Assemblies of God and Presbyterian churches. After Kirk and Laura moved to Minnesota they attended and became members of First Free and have been here since 1996. Kirk has served here as a teacher, Elder, and currently the Interim Director of Adult Ministries and Outreach.

Interests Kirk enjoys • Most things outdoors - except mosquitoes (biking, rock-climbing, backpacking, skiing) • Aviation - He’s a Ground School Instructor, pilot, and airplane builder • Teaching and studying/learning (Bible or pretty much anything else) • Excellent spicy ethnic foods • Dates with his wife • Playing and sharing life with his sons Tobin & Ian
