Gil Fruchey
Pastor of Worship and Music

Responsibilities
To oversee the Worship and Music ministries of First Free including planning and leading Sunday services, directing the Worship Choir, Orchestra and Praise Band, mobilizing and equipping volunteers for service, and shepherding and caring for the congregation.

Church Background
When Pastor Gil was growing up in Findlay, Ohio, his family first attended a Methodist church.  After leaving there, they went to an independent Pentecostal church and later an Assemblies of God church.  In college Pastor Gil attended a Church of God (Anderson) church and later a Southern Baptist church with a short stint in an Episcopal church as a paid choir member.  You might call his background "eclectic". 

Educational Background
Anderson University, B.A., 1996-Voice Performance and Church Music.  Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, 2008-M.A.R. in Religion and Worship Studies.

Pastor of Worship and Music, Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church, Arlington Heights, Illinois, 1997-2000.

Family Background
Pastor Gil is the oldest of two children raised in Findlay, Ohio.  His sister, Stephanie, is four years younger and lives in Findlay with her husband Brian Treece.  His parents also still reside in Findlay.  Melissa and Gil were married March 1, 1997 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Their oldest daughter, Kalista, was born February 18, 2000 in Libertyville, Illinois and their youngest, Ashley, was born April 18, 2004 in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
